---- — Arthur William “Bill” Tarr, 81, of Wheeler, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.
Funeral services for Bill will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Chapel, Effingham, with the Rev. Kevin Colclasure officiating. Burial will be in Dieterich City Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the donor’s choice. Bill was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Newton, the son of John C. and Winnifred (Davis) Tarr. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served his country from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 628, Dieterich. Bill married Beverly Eileen (Fulk) on Sept. 3, 1955, in Dieterich, and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Wheeler; daughter, Brenda Kay Tarr of Springfield; sister, Jeanne Kibler of Plainfield; and brother, Lloyd Tarr of Wheeler.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
