---- — Glen Alan Stein, 74, of Ellenton, Fla., went home to be with his Lord Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at his home.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at St. Elmo Christian Church. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Tidewell Hospice or the Stein/Stine Cemetery.
Born July 17, 1939, to Clarence W. Stein and Mildred O’Dell Stein in Vandalia. He was employed by Decatur Drilling Company and a retired farmer in Fayette County. Aug. 16, 1977, he married Cheyral Yevonne Stewart at Zion Lutheran Church, Loogootee.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheyral of 35 years; sons, Jared Scott Stein of Tampa, Fla., and Douglas Alan (Pam) Stein of Farina; daughters, Rhonda Sue (Cleve) Hunter of Arnold, Mo., Natalie Ann Stein of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Tammy Jo (John) Seevers of Smithville, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Ben) Eller, Mitchell (Gretchen) Harpster, Dr. Heidi Jo Hunter, Glendon Cody Hunter, Eric Michel Seevers, Sidney Renee Stein, Jacob Scott Stein, Zachary William Stein; four great-grandchildren, Madison, Dru, Owen and Aubree, who were the joy of his life; two brothers, Leland V. (Joyce) Stein of Brownstown, and Clifford Ray (Sandi) of Kankakee; one sister, Frances Dunbar of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
