Ursula Mae Adams, 93, of Dieterich, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the Glenwood in Effingham.

She was born on Jan. 1, 1920, in New Haven, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (McCreary) Walser. During World War II, Ursula worked as a welder in the Evansville, Ind., shipyard where two naval vessels Landing Ship, Tank (LST) were produced each week. Later she owned and operated a cafe and drugstore in New Haven. She married Franklin Dale Adams in 1951. Mr. Adams preceded her in death in December 1971.Ursula moved to rural Dieterich in 1972, where she lived until moving to the Glenwood in 2011. She loved to garden and raise flowers.
Ursula is survived by her grandchildren, Tammy (Joe) Cato of Bourbonnais, Scott (Julie) Healy of Mason, Shane (Mindy) Healy of St. Elmo and Shaun (Leslie) Healy of Greenup; and her great-grandchildren.
Her parents; her brother, Everett Walser; and her only child, Donald Joseph Healy, preceded Ursula in death.
