— Richard Floyd “Red” Bennett, 88, of Newton, who retired from Sinclair-Arco Refinery in East Chicago after 27 years service and who owned and operated his own auto body repair shop and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, died at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Newton, with the Rev. Al Kemme officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Newton, with military honors by Jasper Post 20 American Legion. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
