James Johnson

James A. Johnson, 89, of Effingham, retired funeral director and U.S. Army veteran of World War II, died at 1 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Effingham Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Centenary United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
